Honestly, this is the first time in my 20 years that I can truly say I’m so happy that people remembered it was my birthday, and that THAT is enough for me. 🙂 I don’t need presents to make me happy, just wishes were good enough for me. Hehe!
Well, perhaps it was also because of the shameless MSN nickname I put up, demanding people to wish me so that I can collect as many birthday wishes as possible.
Don’t know if you can see, but that’s what it came to at exactly 12.00am on the 17th of January.
It was all very amusing at the stroke of midnight on my birthday. I immediately called my father and wished him and my handphone was ringing so I had to cut it short. A few of my classmates were calling me. I was touchend but was rather suspicious about this one conversation with Narjit.
Narjit: What are you doing now?
Me: Studying lor!
Narjit: Haiya, your birthday, don’t study laa!!
Me: er, er, exams coming la, how not to study..
Narjit: So…no celebrations laaa? No cake?
Me: Need cake for what…
Narjit: No cake? WHY you don’t want cake?
Me: er…. because.. er.. okay..
Narjit: Happy birthday ya!!!
So I thought it was rather suspicious and suddenly was damn worried that she was downstairs waiting for me. Hahahhaa. I mentioned time and time again to Lie Yuen that it is okay, I don’t need to celebrate my birthday as it is damn near the exams.
Horrified, I put on my bra. You know, just in case.
But alas, it was just a cheeky birthday wish from Narjit. Hahahaha.
Talked to mum and dad for about an hour before coming back to find this:
LOL! 20 messages! No thanks to my shameless self birthday wish I bet. Wahahha. Thanks guys, I was just so happy seeing so many of you bothering to entertain me for abit.
And another half an hour on webcam with Chee Kiang who tried to tempt me with some fried rice that he taupaued at the mamak near his uni. Sob, sob. I was quite hungry at that time too. During the first half of the webcam session, I was on the phone with Mun Teng who was telling me about this horrendous date that she went on. After awhile, I told her that I’m webcamming with Chee Kiang and decided to put her on loudspeaker. Hahaha.
Even lovelier was the fact that the connection was SO fucking great that it didn’t lag at all! 😀 It’s almost like I’m talking in front of him, in person. Mun Teng and Chee Kiang even had a lovely chat and made plans to go to Genting Highlands together. One on my handphone, and one on my computer, talking. And at times I wasn’t even involved in the conversation. hahaha. I love technology, don’t you?
After awhile, Dennis called me and for my ‘birthday present’, I received a 15 minutes comedy skit from him. LOL! He doesn’t allow me to share his hidden talent with the world. He’s EVEN better than Russel Peters.
There was the Italian couple who wanted to wish me a Happy Birthday(whilst bickering about how fat the wife is, how lousy the husband sings the Happy Birthday song, or how the fat wife hugging me is like two elephants making love..LOL LOL damn super funny. If you know Dennis, bug him to do a repetition of the little comedy skit he put on for me.
There was also the Hongkee cameraman who shouted “Camera ROLL-leeng, Roll-leeng, aaah! Choi lei gor choi lei gor! Take fai! Take fai! CaMeRaa Woll-leeng, woll-leeng… Ahh! Choi lei gor!” LOL LOL Seriously laughing my ass off until there were tears in my eyes.
And a character from Borat, a native Indian and a gweilo speaking cantonese was thrown into the mix.
I don’t care dennis, the next time we yamcha, you’re putting the comedy skit on for me again!
As my birthday came to an end, Esther bugged me to go on webcam and I had the shock of my life because there were SO many people on the other side. hahahaha. They were all there at Chung Lern’s house, preparing to go out for yamcha. Chung Lern, Esther, Huini, kim Zen, Teng Choon, Jia Jun, Guan Siang and jason! And they were like shouting, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!” hahaha.so cute!
I managed to get them to huddle around for a “group picture” while I did a print screen of that lively webcamming session.
And the multiple testimonials, smses, phone calls, emails and msn wishes..oh, and blog comments as well..haha were enough to make my day.
Lie Yuen surprised me with this beautiful card!
I couldn’t resist showing off my fairy lights just once more.
Surely a close up isn’t enough?:D Don’t you love the lights!?
And I have discovered the beauty of PopArt pens. They are special markers with water based fluorescent paint. I only bought the white, pink and red one because they are like RM5.90 each. I must be crazy if I am going to fore go my bus ticket money for a bunch of pens.
Couldn’t resist drawing on almost every single non-porous(as stated by the manufacturer) surface. I could rub them off if I hated it and draw somemore. Such is the beauty of decorative stationary.
An inspiration from my curtains.
A heart shaped balloon.
I got Lie Yuen to draw me a jug because of its Aquarius-ey look. And a crown for that diva touch.
An artist’s image of my beautiful pink faux pearl bracelet with a chiffon ribbon.
Something to represent my monthly misery.
And something to represent my toil and trouble.
Just because it is pretty.:D
And a fairy to make everything else happen.
I’m having second thoughts about that artistic creativity diarrhoea Lie Yuen and I had while procrastinating our studies.
But they are cute. Hehehe.
Lie Yuen’s impression of my usual position.
🙁 Quite ugly la actually.
I’m planning to buy the blue marker to add more colour to this. Cute or not? It is the door to my toilet. Very appropriate, don’t you think?
An Angel at the top right hand corner of my mirror.
And a devil at the bottom left corner. I’m thinking of buying the yellow and orange markers to make the fire look more realistic.

We had our last dental technology practical today for the module. (exams coming arr..how how how;( )
We were greeted by an area full of boxes! This means new things for the school of dentistry!
This is so exciting!
See that? Electric Model Trimmer! I’ll be looking forward to the third module.:) Different practical sessions. No more dentures! Yeaay!
I really like my dental technology lecturer’s clear instructions. And they are so artistic too. This was a very useful guide for class today. Imagine, I had it displayed on my camera to assist me while I worked on my dentures.
All ready to set the upper posterior teeth today. The piece of glass you see is for me to check the occlusal plane. To see if the required parts of the teeth are touching the plane correctly.
However, I had to get the lecturers’ approval on my anterior teeth(up and down) and they said that my mid-line was off, my lower anterior teeth was not inclined labially(towards the lips) but inclined lingually. And that they were not sitting on the alveolar ridge. So sad.:(
I had to spend about an hour and a half fixing the anterior teeth. This means sticking my heated wax knife and digging the teeth out and then realigning them and so on and so forth. Was getting more and more depressed by the minute. Everybody were already half way through with the setting of the posterior teeth and I was still adjusting the front teeth. 🙁
One of my lecturers was kind enough to tell me that it is okay to take it slow as I am still learning and that I should not compare myself with my other classmates. “Just do everything patiently and you will learn better that way,” she said.
And true enough, I managed to get it right at last. Even though I took alot of time. 😀 Alot of procedures that I self created, though. Like sticking my wax knife into the wax and pushing the teeth out a little when we were told to use our fingers most of the time instead. Sigh.
At last I could start with the posterior teeth. And I was so happy when the head of the dental tech lecturers came to see how I was doing and said that my curve was “beautiful”! HE HARDLY PRAISES MY WORK!! AAH! *hyperventilates* and then he gave me the thumbs up. hahaha. So encouraging wei. *semangat*
And I was also quite happy that the posterior teeth touched the occlusal plane correctly. Not easy man. Like the 1st molar has four cusps, only the mesio-palatal cusp(the cusp nearest to the centre of the dentition, on the palatal side of the mouth) can touch the occlusal plane. *pulls hair out*. But I managed. So happy.
Pushing and turning, hoping that the fissures will form a nice curve.
Was close to tears when a lecturer turned the gas off because it was way past 5pm. I had two more teeth left to do! 🙁
But see my curve!! Nice or not nice or not? Next time if you guys want dentures, come to me okay. hahaha. (but most dentists would rather not work with dentures.. so dentures are actually going out of fashion.)
oh yah, before I end my post, my step cousin Justin would like to know if anybody wants to buy a Creative Zen Vison: M 30GB. Whatever it is.:D But here’s his description of it and the purchasing details:

Okay, back to my studies. 🙁
Happy birthday, Jolene! But haiyor, you spoilt the mood la, with those dentures there. Last time, when I was in Form Three, I got dentures too. Lucky after that I got money to make bridges. Next time, you do implant for me, ok? Hehehe.
jo: ahhaha thanks you Lilian! 😀 Where got spoil mood, it’s a good example of eat shit sleep blogging;D .. Oh ouch! why so young?:( hehehe set!:D but don’t curse yourself la, maybe your bridges can last longer?:D But usually kids will use implants because dentures are not too good for them. just learnt this in class yesterday. ahhah.
