It’s strange how I love my hair the most after rolling around for many bouts of naps(sigh, procrastination takes the best of me) and after tying my hair up in the stuying-hairstyle, my hair tumbles down just the way I like it right before the entire day ends. It looks worst in the day. Why?!
My finals are coming in slightly less than a month and everytime I think about it, I get scared. Because if you get a D, you’ll have to stay back in Kedah for an oral examination. And if you fail that you’ll have to resit the papers. And if you fail the resit examination, you’ll have to repeat the entire year. 🙁 Just thinking of it makes me wanna puke.
It sucks. My pimples have found new regions to conquer(my poor neck) and my period is late because I am stressed. Stress pushes my period further and further away. I hate having periods because it would mean an entire day lost. Or maybe two. I’d roll around in pain and be damn depressed.
I went to Penang with Chee Kiang awhile back just for a one day trip. We took the ferry from Butterworth and I’ve always imagined the ferries(sp?) to look like the ones they use to ferry us to Langkawi. But goodness gracious. The ones the Penangites use are like bloody METAL ISLANDS. It’s so huge it carries 300 passengers and about 20 cars on its lower levels.
At the entrance of the terminal.
I thought the sampans looked quite authentic!
The area around the jetty is so nicely undeveloped. 🙂
OHMIGOD It looks like a school hall.
Sorry I’m jakun.
I can’t remember why i took this shot..I was just going snap snap snap.
ck and I.
They even sell food aboard the ferry! How cool is that? It’s like you can’t even feel that the ferry is moving since it was so damn big.
My third time going to Penang Island! 🙂
The other end of the terminal. Sorry lorh, cheap thrills. Little girl never see big ass ferry terminals before mah.
NOW that’s a pretty trishaw!! Compared to the ugly ones in Malacca, all the flower and bells and stuff. UGH. I’ve never sat in a trishaw before. If I had more time, I would’ve tried to ride in one. But I was afraid that the trishaw puller would look at me and say, “No…too heavy.” 🙁
Ck suggested that we eat at Pulau Tikus first before proceeding to Gurney Plaza. I also don’t know anything, just follow the leader.
Duck porridge, apparently. Not too bad lah.
Dimsum!!
I felt quite sad looking at this old grandmother sitting alone eating her lunch.
I caught my reflection and swiftly took out my camera.
Ck ordered Char Kuay Teow.. but it was spicy so I didn’t try. I did eat Char Kuay Teow without chilli later on though.
Chee Cheong Fun. It’s nice!!
Okay, I know this is nothing new.. but I like authentic chinese shoplots. A god guards the door of every home, that sort of thing.
Apparently this is the most expensive condominium in Penang. Two units per level. That’s huge.
Quite nice right? A slightly high class kampung. Oh if you’re wondering why I was taking all these pictures..we were walking from Pulau Tikus to Gurney Plaza….no car ma what to do? And we were not sure which buses to take. But at least Ck knew his way. He goes back to Penang to see his grandmother and Aunty pretty often and spent the first four years of his life in Penang. Not like he would have explored alot as a toddler…but at least he knew Penang better than me, the noob.
This is Gurney Drive. I was sorely disappointed. I thought it was big, with sprawling tourist paraphernalia and a beach and dotted with eateries to attract all kinds of tourists.
Now now, it’s not often you get to see an iron wrought gate.
After Gurney Plaza(nothing much to scream about, if you’ve seen One Utama and KLCC, you’ve seen it all), we went to another hawker place before we decided to call it a day.
Along Gurney Drive, there’s a strip of sand and rocks by the sea. We went there to catch some breeze.
My hair was blown all over the place.
It’s quite nice and serene. But it would have been better if the area was wider.
Camwhoring with the lovely background.
Only the sea can calm his troubled heart……..
We wanted a photo with the wind catching my hair..but unfortunately, my hair was too heavy. Sigh.
Nope. Still no strong gust of wind.
Okay, done with the seaside moments.
Since I still had alot to catch up with back in Kedah, we decided to call it a day and I went back to Sg. Petani while he went on to stay with his grandmother and Aunty in Penang.
The Big Ass Ferry.
It’s SO cool that cars can travel along.
It really looks like a harbour.
SO CUTE!!! Even the bird wanted a free ride.
You know how most of the bus stations have a service to help you keep your luggage? We might have to reconsider our options. THIS is how they keep your luggage for you. There’s a laptop in one of those cages.
The bus ride back to Sungai Petani was like a water ride. Where water pours on you every now and then. HATE PUBLIC BUSES THAT SUCK.
Ck got souvenirs for a few (guy)friends back home. ;P I myself bought my housemates some souvenirs too. I bought Lip gloss for them. I persuaded him to get the ‘sexy bikini’ ones. He thought it was a cute keychain. But what he doesn’t know is that those are actually Sexy Bikini Lip Glosses!! Hahaha. Hope you like it, Daryl, Justin, Eu-Foh and Jon!! 🙂
