I was just humming this tune to myself just now while making coffee(late night studying ya)…
The words started to fill in… “..yesterday you told me about the blue blue sky, and all that I can see….IS JUST ANOTHER LEMON TREE!!!!” and I was overwhelmed with nostalgia and I ran up stairs and looked for the video on youtube.

I’ve never actually seen the video. I used to sing it alot when I was a kid. In the bathroom when my maid was bathing me(hahaha yes yes at the age of 9), in the playground on the swings, while playing with my cousin..etc.
Here’s another one:
I remember in Standard 2(so this was 1995 but I think it overlapped with 1996), my friends and I were in the library and someone let me listen to her walkman(HAHAHA) and I was HOOKED to THIS song. My cousin brother, Mian Yong, who was staying with my family at that time for his Alevels days at Taylors, loan me his Now This Is What I Call Music(the very first one, mind you) cd and it had the song on it. I was singing with the lyrics in my hand every night before bed time. Hahaha. My brother also loved this song.
And I can’t believe that this is considered retro already.
I was Yellow Ranger, what were you?
My cousin sister, Jacqueline, always had her way, so she became Pink Ranger.
Derek was blue ranger.
Jacq and Derek’s cousins, Christopher and Jason Woon, were Red ranger(Christopher got to choose as he is the oldest after Jacq) and Black ranger respectively. They lived in Damansara but would come up to Subang to play with the four of us whenever Derek and Jacq came up from Malacca.
My poor little brother, being the youngest, had no choice but to be the robot.

Blue Ranger looks about 50 years old now! He was SO cute back then!! 🙁

the funniest has to be black ranger. Get this…he was in House Of The Dead 2 as “Locker Zombie”. It was an uncredited role.

Intrigued, I googled it up. Then I was reminded of my close standard one friend, Tanya Davidson. One of the only two people I invited to my seven year old party. So I googled her up.

OMG 1996 I was in class 6JM in SRK SS19 :p I still remember my class teacher Pn. Norfaazah. She was so nice. There were only 9 boys in that class that year, as opposed to more than 30 girls. Josh was there.
And you camwhore goddess… You couldn’t have started earlier (since the days of, uhm, I quote, “evenly spread out” shirts)…

OMG, i was a Red Ranger, but that was before the way cooler White Ranger came out holding his white sabre. Haha.. i remember the Malaysian censorship board mutes the word “morphin” when the rangers yell out their standard “It’s Morphin’ Time” line every episode because it sounded like “morphine”…. -_-||| I didn’t learn the word until it was banned and i asked my day what was morphine. Of course the series “WHERE DID YOU HEAR THAT FROM?!?!” followed.
Anyway Disney bought over the Power Rangers. And i think they look much uglier than the ones in 1996 season. I think either i need a visit to the otologist or the Malaysian censorship board will be in action.
By the way, besides Power Rangers, Jetix, Disney’s wholly owned subsidiary also have under their belt – King Kong, Digimon, Jackie Chan and PUCCA! (amongst another dozen of lessen known characters) Talk about world domination. Ok, this is getting offtopic so i better stop here.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers dates back to 1993, not 1996. Actually, 1996 is when it was ending. Just thought I’d let you know.
By the way, I wouldn’t trust comments on YouTube, definitely not. Austin St. John (Jason, Red ranger) is not doing gay porn. lol He and Steven Cardenas (Rocky, the second Red ranger) were at that Comic Con convention, whatever you call it. You know for geeks and stuff. lol Well anyway, both of them who used to be in shape, put on some pounds. Especially, Austin, who has a chubby face now. Well yeah, the dude people keep claiming is him is super buff, jacked up on steroids with a stupid face and haircut. So while its a bit unfortunate to see him kind of chunky, at least it dispels the rumors right? lol 😉
