Yep, it’s finally here:)
My dad thought it was wiser to get a 2008 car so that the resale value will be higher when I sell it off many years down the road. The salesman certainly wasted no time in selling the car to us and so on Saturday, my beautiful pearl white Myvi was sent to my house.
I couldn’t possibly describe to you the euphoria I am still feeling about this car. It’s like I never thought that I’d be one of those who would get a car until I’m like much older.
Melody has actually named my car The Giant Tooth. It’s white and looks molar-ish and besides, it’s driven by the tooth fairy!(that would be me.)
A car is of great convenience here in Sungai Petani because I wouldn’t want to rely on my friends for all five years and dad said he would help me get a car when I start working, so what’s three years ahead of time? š I foresee sending my children to kindergarten in this car! That’s how long it’ll last. š Hey, I’m one of those people who uses her hand phone for more than three years before getting a new one. I’ll use it till it dies on me. š
Thanks dad, thanks mum. š
Dad says that I would have to pay for my own petrol and for the consequent services. Fair enough and I couldn’t possibly ask for more.
And so on Sunday, I drove the Myvi (only my second time in it!!) all the way back to Kedah alone. Like, in four hours. Everyone around me were so worried for me, especially my parents! Even Chee Kiang was worried for me. Haha, my father and Chee Kiang asked me the exact same questions. “How fast will you be driving tomorrow?” etc.
It was a relatively smooth journey except for the heavy rain at certain parts of the highway. It was like a solo road trip, with my FM modulator and iPod, my favourite tunes were blaring from the new speakers…the four hours just flew by like that. I drove past Penang and contemplated turning into the bridge to go to Gurney Drive and buy Muachee, but that’s pushing it. š Can’t blame me for wanting to revel in the sudden freedom that I’ve been granted.
Even as I park my car inside the house, I’d get out and stare at it for the longest time with the stupidest of grins on my face. My first car. My FIRST car! It still hasn’t quite hit me yet!
I finally managed to get a few photos of the car after class on Monday!
The interior! The chair hugs my body in a really comfortable way. I think the Giant Tooth and I are totally bonding!
The tooth fairy and the Giant Tooth!
Actually Melody gives name to all our Big Things.
When I first got my Acer(which died, naomitaba), her name was Lolita Isabella.
When she got her Dell, she named it Isadella.
Then when Esther got her silver Kelisa back in ’04, she named it The Silver Chariot.
And when she got her own Black Iswara, she named it Black Scrap Metal.
She comes up with the funniest and funnest name for our things. š I love its name Mel.
For months I’ve been staring at other Myvis on the road wistfully, patiently awaiting for the arrival of the Giant Tooth.
A super glamour photo of Lie Yuen posing with my car.
On the very same day I got my car, I peeled off the bumper sticker from my sliding door upstairs and immediately pasted it onto my back window. Yes, I need more ads to pay for my car petrol! Thank you, Nuffnang! I’m also very proud to carry the sticker around. Hehe. Soon I’ll have to add the AIMST’s sticker as well. It’s about the same size as the Nuffnang one. Just worried that my entire back view will be blocked. Haih. I don’t understand why the university can’t come up with a smaller squarish one that I can proudly paste in front. ;(
Cze-Yin wanted to do a hiau por post a la Lie Yuen but ended up laughing.
Oklah can lah, pass la.
Narjit and Jamie getting a feel of the car. They liked it!
Me kissing my baby. I’ll probably send it for a wash when I go back to Subang in two weeks’ time. (Module two exams coming. So sad. š )
As if you don’t already know what kind of tissue box I’d go for. š Let’s see, my current tofu collection is at a grand total of.. hmm, two tissue boxes, one mini keychain, one larger keychain, one even larger keychain, a Strawberry sifu tofu hanging on my door that Lie Yuen bought for me, a brown tofu at home, a big pink tofu here and two seatbelt strappies! I love Hannari Tofu! š
One more with Hannari tofu tissuebox in its natural habitat.
My beautiful giant tooth. š I love you!
Another angle.
Me driving happily.
Jamie and Narjit waves byebye as they stay on campus and we don’t.
Ooh, very commercial.
I love this photo! Glammed it up with a bit of overlay and gaussian blur. Ahh. š
A beautiful photo of Lie Yuen.
Cze-Yin gives the evil eye. With my tofu seat belt strappie! š
It’s so comfortable with the tofu strappie on. So cute!!
And have I mentioned how much I adore the paint? If you look closely at a Pearl White Myvi, you can see that the paint is actually shimmery. Just the way I like it. š It’s like a glittery car. Life doesn’t get any better than that. š
Woah. Congratz wei! Can totally feel your excitement. Hehe. And I’m quite sure SP drivers won’t give your Giant Tooth scratches everywhere. Have fun exploring Kedah with it! =P
jo: hehehe thanks! are u kidding me!! crazy drivers in Kedah too, trickled in from Penang…(mad mad island that one)…heheh i will. thanks!

jo: hahahhaa..it does look like a giant tooth rite:)
LOL..no lah! i got the bumper sticker from their movie screening of PoC back in May. š now i have a car, and i’m proud to put it up! š

Oh myy…I totally adore the why you love your Myvi…It’s like, everytime you say Myvi, I’m replacing it with the name of the car I’m soon going to get, and I can absolutely feel it! You’re real…the feeling is real…your writing is real. YOUR MYVI a.k.a THE GIANT TOOTH is real.
I’ve never seen a Myvi, put it into so much beauty and definition, and you’ve got to be advertising for them, because you almost made me go to the Perodua showroom to get one!
Good luck and all the best with it…
I’ve yet to see a lady like yourself being in love with a car, but to me, my car is always my first wife! haha…
Congrats!
Regards…
jo: hahhaha wow..so many praises…:D I’m not advertising for them! lol i like the blue colour for the viva though. too bad it didn’t come in that colour for the myvi š
hehehe… it’s this love..this great sense of love..

Ooo so nice I’m getting mine soon, too.
Not a Myvi, and in manual too.
jo: š ah, so what is it?
–
Hey, you will have to check the production date (to confirm that it is REALLY a YEAR 2008 CAR). Otherwise you might be buying a car BORN in 2007…this means you are buying an “old” car
jo: oh issit:) okay then!
–
Ooo…so you finally posted an entry about it! I saw your pics of FB and was waiting for the “review”. :p…first car is always the best, right?
Hmm. I should give my Kelisa a wax too! It doesn’t shine anymore…:(
jo: lol i have no other cars to compare to…so yeah, totally in love with it:) ahh..send it for waxing at the snowwash? don’t they do everything for u?
–
Congratulations, Jo!
Don’t abuse the car, ok?
Drive safely, be nice to other road users and most importantly, don’t be like other female drivers that everyone is cussing about, ok?
So, when can I hop into your car and get you fetch me around?
jo: LOL! yesyes! if got chance sure fetch my jason kor around;PĆĀ
