Here’s a favour to my friend Weng Lum – my NS ally, the one who shared my pain of being a banana in camp, the only guy who could report to me the correct estimations and colour of the various dickies that he encountered in camp(bless his eyes) when we corresponded via letters back in camp, one of the very few male friends who can bitch the house down with me:
“The Student In Free Enterprise(I presume it’s a society) of The University Of Nottingham Malaysia Campus will hold a charity fashion show on Thursday, 22 March, at 7.30pm at Zouk Club, KL. One of the aims of the Fashion Show is to help promote retail stores by providing them with publicity and at the same time to assist and advise fashion retailers in marketing, product design, training in finance and also ethical practises. We hope to provide them with an extended market. After the fashion show, there will be an after part at Zouk’s own Ghetto Heaven.
Ticket prices
Pre-sale: RM25
At the door: RM30
One of the designers taking part in this event is YC from http://blackjetta.blogspot.com/ . If you are familiar with YC from http://www.kennysia.com/archives/2007/01/aiding_the_floo.php who once raised funds for the flood victims, she is now in aid of Yvonne Foong’s fundraising activities. Drama Mama by Blackjettas Design will be sponsoring a limited number of 3 dresses for a charity auction aiming to add more numbers to Yvonne’s medical fund. Drama Mama’s dresses for a good cause will be showcased live on catwalk. The online auction will begin in time with the fashion show. The works of many new and upcoming local fashion designers and boutique outlets will also be modelled on that night.
The proceeds will go to two charity organizations: Mouth and Foot Painting Artists and Yvonne Foong.
Sounds like fun doesn’t it? I’d go if I could but unfortunately I won’t be around. It’d be nice to see Weng Lum playing boss and ordering the models around, telling the runners to coordinate the next performance, seeing fresh new designs on models strutting their stuffs down the catwalk. I suppose the designs would be easier to relate to unlike the extravagant ideas you see on stereotypical catwalks.
And for the guys, even the models will be more down to earth as they are students from the university. Thus, *ahem*, if there are any nice girls who are single, you know what to do lah after the show. Go up and say hi and make friends and then invite me for your wedding.
I’m actually having a good giggle over here at the thought of Weng Lum stressing out and having a headache trying to put everything together.. but I believe he will be able to pull through. 🙂 It’ll be a success, Weng Lum.
I personally think it’s a brilliant idea to mix fun and charity. It’s almost like shopping!
Yvonne Foong is also a friend, but we don’t get to see each other very often, I also hope that she will benefit greatly from this event and have a great time too! Furthermore, I wish her all the best in her future undertakings and I believe she will make it all the way as she is a very strong girl who has had to endure so much in her young life. Her optimism is awe-inspiring and endearing and that, my friends, takes a lot of courage to do.
So if you’re free, head on down la. Party, pseudo-shopping, eye candies, charity, music and mostly, it’s an event organized by students. Those are always damn fun.
mm mm.. *drool* can’t wait. if only i could actually go.. :p
jo: lol you’ll be there in mind and spirit, yes?
