AIMST University To Have Student Council Soon

Posted on April 7, 2008April 7, 2008 by Jolene

WOW.

It’s a good thing I set up the facebook group for my university or else I wouldn’t have known this. According to one of the members, the university has given the approval for elections to be held for a student council.

Though nothing is being confirmed and it could merely be a rumour. But one can always keep her hopes up right?

Acknowledging my lack of leadership skills, I was keen to offer myself to be a campaign manager for whoever who is running. So fun! Imagine all the campaign tactics that can be carried out, big banners, speeches and the likes. The entire university will be in carnival mode!

The more I think about it, the more I want to be in the council as well. I have always been one to complain about things around the university. Like how I wish we don’t have to park so far from our classes or how strange it is that the pool is only opened for two hours a day. This is my chance to see if my complaints are in-line with the rest of the student body. I’d also be happy if there was a pool table on campus. Hehe.

A guy from the IT faculty said that although their faculty is small, they would still like to be represented in the council if there are any. I’m sure if the student council is really a reality, there would be a service centre to accept complaints and file them up, bringing it up during student council meetings and executing the solutions.

Must be the election fever still lingering in me.
I really hope that this is not just a rumour.

jo: that’s right! :Pheheh.. yeah that’s rather tempting too.

depending on how active and passionate they are, a student council really can do a whole lotta good. my friends have been/are currently president and vice presidents of my college’s student council. its pretty interesting!

    run for something!! 😛
