I was just humming this tune to myself just now while making coffee(late night studying ya)…
The words started to fill in… “..yesterday you told me about the blue blue sky, and all that I can see….IS JUST ANOTHER LEMON TREE!!!!” and I was overwhelmed with nostalgia and I ran up stairs and looked for the video on youtube.
I’ve never actually seen the video. I used to sing it alot when I was a kid. In the bathroom when my maid was bathing me(hahaha yes yes at the age of 9), in the playground on the swings, while playing with my cousin..etc.
Here’s another one:
I remember in Standard 2(so this was 1995 but I think it overlapped with 1996), my friends and I were in the library and someone let me listen to her walkman(HAHAHA) and I was HOOKED to THIS song. My cousin brother, Mian Yong, who was staying with my family at that time for his Alevels days at Taylors, loan me his Now This Is What I Call Music(the very first one, mind you) cd and it had the song on it. I was singing with the lyrics in my hand every night before bed time. Hahaha. My brother also loved this song.
And I can’t believe that this is considered retro already.
I was Yellow Ranger, what were you?
My cousin sister, Jacqueline, always had her way, so she became Pink Ranger.
Derek was blue ranger.
Jacq and Derek’s cousins, Christopher and Jason Woon, were Red ranger(Christopher got to choose as he is the oldest after Jacq) and Black ranger respectively. They lived in Damansara but would come up to Subang to play with the four of us whenever Derek and Jacq came up from Malacca.
My poor little brother, being the youngest, had no choice but to be the robot.
Here’re some Power Rangers trivia I scoured while going through the comments:
Red Ranger dabbles in gay porn.
Pink Rager works mostly as an extra on hollywood films these days.
Blue Ranger looks about 50 years old now! He was SO cute back then!! 🙁
Yellow Ranger passed away in a car crash back in 2001. RIP.
the funniest has to be black ranger. Get this…he was in House Of The Dead 2 as “Locker Zombie”. It was an uncredited role.
So sad. 🙁
Yesterday, I was reading on MY’s blog about this poor girl called Tanya Donaldson, who suffers from a disease causing her to be physically and mentally four years old forever. Intrigued, I googled it up. Then I was reminded of my close standard one friend, Tanya Davidson. One of the only two people I invited to my seven year old party. So I googled her up.
AND OMGWTFWTTTFFFF..I found this:
Elaine, you might remember it too. Zachary, you too. I can’t believe there is a copy of the newspaper article about the “34 students who skipped standard 4 from SRSS19 Subang Jaya” dated November 1996. Now…if only someone kept an archive of that kuntum article where all 34 ‘bright’ students posed for a photo.
Since we’re on a roll.. I might as well put up some photographs from 1996. Some of my friends and earlier readers may remember these from 2004/2005 on my old blog. But oh, here goes!
Ah, the geekiest one. Always. That’s Irene and Tengku Nordiyana. Wonder where are they now..
*stares at photo a little longer*
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen my shirt evenly spread out on my chest, without any..er, elevations. Damn elevations. I was feeling for my heartbeat yesterday but couldn’t feel anything through the elevations! Argh!
Azmi? Amran? … can’t really remember.. but one thing’s for sure. The camwhore in me roused early.
Cousins and childhood friend, Yong Hwee! (oi Munkit and the rest at the pgl addict group blog..! hahaha that’s Yong Hwee!!)
L-r: Grumpy Derek, Skinny Mervyn, Developing Jacqueline, …Dungaree Yong Hwee and Geek In T-Shirt From Australia Jolene.
Ah, and of course, must show the world that I know this up and coming thespian:
And since she’s so cute, must put another one up. Hehe Kim, if you’ve lost the pic, you can save it again.
First it was those sega games…now these. I don’t know what’s gotten into me…
