More photos from my Vietnam trip as promised.. thought it’s time to cheer the blog up since the last few posts did not contain any photos.
We visited a “handicapped handicraft vietnamese” factory but somehow it didn’t quite live up to its name. No handicapped people around. But to be fair, the things there are quite interesting because most of their work are created by using crunched bits of egg shells and seashells to form really really beautiful pictures. Some are almost like a photograph! The Vietnamese are very good artists I came to realise.
Damn intricate..
For different tones they used duck eggs. For a richer tone they even roasted the shells to get a deep brown.
The factory..damn authentic right?
Inlaying the pieces..
A piece with shells..
This one is simply amazing. The entire picture is done with sea shells on a black background. So cool right?
One of the workers hard at work.
Behind the factory they have a classy souvenier shop and you can get blinded by the rows and rows of colourful lacquered/sea-shelled/egg-shelled ornaments available. I bought 4 chopsticks with eggshells at the ends for my hair.
Wine holders in a multitude of colours.
Besides the shell art works, they even do some paintings.
A miscealleanous christmas decoration on the Christmas Tree.
I came upon a blog today and the blogger mentioned that she found a dog outside Kai Xin Coffeeshop in USJ11. She hopes to find the owner soon or else the dog would have to go to Paws, Subang Jaya. If she can’t find the owner, she hopes that someone would want to adopt this doggie. Anybody interest or do anybody even recognise this dog?
I’d adopt it if I was able to.. but I simply cannot take on another dog with a monster like Angel around. I don’t think Angel’s a very accomodating canine housemate.
She’ll probably turn her nose up just like this at the poor doggie if the poor doggie comes to live with us.
As you can see, she’s very imperial in her own little ways. No way no how can there be a space for another dog in the house.
