Now I know why people say, “I TAKE SHIT FROM MY CUSTOMERS.”
I’ve come to a point where I don’t give a shit if my customers are reading this. The good ones are probably the ones reading, and the bad ones are the stupid ones who can’t comprehend English, so they probably don’t read blogs to begin with.
I don’t know how some people can think that it is perfectly fine to make me wait for their payment for up to a month and then breezily tell me, “oh, I don’t want already.”
DO THEY FUCKING KNOW THAT THE ITEMS THAT THEY HAVE ‘PURCHASED’ CAUSED ME TO LIST THOSE ITEMS AS ‘SOLD OUT’??!?
ARGGHH I get so mad that I just want to pull something, break something, throw something across the room and scream my lungs out!
As a result, I have a stack of stickers that I will probably have to put up in a separate post as “cancelled orders” as most of those are the nicer ones that the ‘early birds’ managed to sapu before the real buyers came by. These early birds… somehow happen to be prepubescent children or nubile girls who don’t have enough money but still want to buy these stickers anyway.
Do I scold them in my email? Carefully constructed sarcasm that allows me to release some steam but not piss them off so much?
NO. I just type a monotonous, “no problem” and the customer’s envelope of stickers will remain in its envelope for months to come. I’ve got cancelled orders from April that I’ve not sorted out yet. Sometimes, if I’m really angry, I’ll ignore their email. There were a couple of times where I’ve let slip and scolded a customer. I should not have done because CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT, RIGHT? No.
WHY ARE PEOPLE SO STUPID YOU TELL ME? Does it take a lot to punch a few numbers into the calculator and then gage if your bank account has sufficient funds to be transferred over to me?
And I really want to vomit blood when some customers make me lug my boxes (probably a quarter of my weight. I’m 62 kg. Now I’ll have to kill you after telling you.) all the way to some obscure place (I usually state McDonalds SS15) and then only end up buying RM10 or RM20 worth of stickers from me. I KNOW I have no right to dictate how much they buy but PLEASE LOR GROW A BRAIN. I can easily send it to you via the normal postage that I offer so PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE FOR MY POOR BACKBONE AND MY TIME.
Just because I’m selling stickers does not give you the right to talk down to me. Tons of girls are selling stuff online too and we are all going to be somebodies in this world one day. Please take your “i’m the boss and you’re the servant” bullshit elsewhere because as far as customer service go, there is a limit. I don’t have to take your bullshit now. I’ll be earning more than you anyway in a few years’ time.
If you treat me like a friend, I’ll treat you like a friend. But strangely, some people really don’t even look at me in the eye when I try to make conversation (they won’t reply even). I believe that most girls who sell things online are not doing this for a living. It is not their job to thrive in this ‘industry’, if there even is one. We are all part of a community of petty trading. It’s fun and it’s trendy. Do not be rude to me and do not give me the cold shoulder JUST BECAUSE I SELL STICKERS. HELLO IT’S A FRICKEN HOBBY. BE NICE!
I’ll probably have to fold up after this post since no one would ever dare buy from me ever again. But rest assured. I’ve got 300+ orders so far and only about a mere 5% are the terrible ones. Most people would pay within days of their orders.
I just had to let go all that steam or I would have BLArRGGGHhhed at some unfortunate customer.
I feel you. Im in the same predicament myself. I’m selling DVDs of TV Series. After someone inquires about an order, calculate the total cost and once its confirmed, I’ll burn and then test by playing each file individually.
Then the buyer delays payment. I have stacks of DVDs packed and ready for postage and still no money from the buyer. I think I’ll hv to start asking for deposit now -_-
jo: ARGHH I think you’re worse off. burning dvds would probably take a longer time eh! Yahor, that’s the function of deposit!

whoa, calm down… breathe in, breathe out.
one of my frens had it bad when he first started his PC shop. his first customer was this old man who didn’t know anything about computers, kept harassing my fren that this and that wasn’t working, only because he didn’t know how to use them.
my fren got pissed he went to the house, returned the old man’s money, and took back the PC.
jo: HAHA omg that story is almost legendary. I like your friend. 🙂

damn……those are real arseholes. tell you what, blackmark their names and dont sell to them no more. they had taken advantage of you and they have no right to do that. im working in the services sector myself and i can tell you this…..customers are not kings. yes you need them to buy stuff but not till they step you in the face. show them this *shows middle finger*….hehehehe. nevermind….cry it out. kor kor here to console you…or kuai kuai or…. 🙂
jo: hahhaa why kor kor so miang one! lol lol.. ..yeah… but sometimes SOMETIMES we as customers also got go overboard a bit lah..:P but ARGHHh!!!!

Are you so angry you can fuck or are you fucking angrily? 😛
jo: wow philosophy
–
woah. cool down man. it’s usual to meet customers who are so irritating. it’s not easy, but dont bother about them. they arent worth your time at all.
jo: but they take up my time chasing them for moolah! 🙁

take a chill pill. i had worse customers and i’m in the banking line. imagine wat crap we get from customers who chosen a career to be professional complainer. sometimes feel like taking their money and roll it up and shove it up their nostrils.
dun let the ill-educated ppl get to ur nerves. remember the good ones like me!! Hahahaaaa…
it’s time we have a Code of Ethics between buyers and sellers of online trade.
jo: hahahhaa… aw man. service line sucks. hehehe i’ll always remember you. <3 🙂 yea.. but who to write it?;\

Just suggesting, maybe you can put “reserved” on the item before putting it as “sold”? Until the whole transaction is made then only you label them as “sold” la. Chill laa Jo, it’s the only thing they have in their lives to for once feel superior about themselves, don’t take that away from them, layan laaa… 😛 HAHA!
OH and also if they made reservations of at least RM50 and above then only do COD laa… At least this may be an assurance to them since the amount is big and they can check it since its in bulk and harder to monitor the quality maybe?
Else its not really worth your time… I used to sell my secondhand camera stuff online and I don’t even bother COD them and I just mail it to them. They cost RM350 min!
normally what i see my cousin do is, she notes down all the orders, state there in her blog that whoever pays first gets it. then after payment barulah she prepares the items which takes up about 2 or 3 days. so she doesnt have to tear anymore hair out of her head already!
oh ya she also stated “the saying: customers are always right isnt going to work here.”
hope that helped. cannot let ppl bully us! hmph!
Those lousy customers probably treat you like the pasar malam vendor. I feel sorry for you …
don’t know if you remember me, but i met you at the absolute bazaar! 🙂
reuben’s gf to be exact! 🙂
i get that all the timee! i had to wait for an hour and a half once cause my customer was late for cod! worst part was it was all the way in ou and i was just gonna drop by ou to cod that’s all!!! and thing is i dont drive :(.. reuben was the one fetching me! so we had to go somewhere around ou for lunch and then back again to ou for cod.. it was such a waste of time.. 🙁
and i hate hate hate customers who dont reply mails and smses!
But other than that, having an online boutique is great! hehe! 🙂
that’s why people invented legally binding, fully enforceable contracts. So that you can sue peoples’ assess in masses when they piss you off.
I think you were being too nice. I think the customers should pay in full first before you list your items as sold out. While waiting for payment, you can list pending for payment. If you dont’ get the money within, let’s say 3 business days, the item is back for sale. You need to protect yourself. like you said, it’s just a hobby, you’re not making a living out of selling stickers, so I think you can afford to be a little more demanding in terms of how you want to handle your business. People that genuinely want to buy the stickers will of course pay on time because they want it and that’s the kind of people you want to do business with. As for the meeting with your clients, I think you should get a minimum payment first. The customer needs to pay you for example RM25 first before you agree to go for a meet and then he/she can pick out RM25 worth of stickers or more, if he/she picks out less, then too bad, you can’t give back the money. I know this comment is a little long but I thought I give some suggestions, maybe it will help you or maybe not. Good luck with the business. 🙂
f’ em, those 5% customers are a bunch of mooches, save their email addresses and spam them with penis pill links ><
god damn sticker mooches, shove an rm25 straight up their a$$!
Yeah, i know, im late..
but after i read this, i think i love you.
SO much truth in your text, i thought im the only one who gets pissed about low-brain customers.
I feel with you.
btw… sorry for my bad english, its no my native language
