Sometime Back In December 2009
Welcome back to the time traveling blog!
Being impressionable 12 year olds in the late 90s, karaoke sessions meant a lot to us girls. Â Whenever we had the chance, we’d go “Oi tonight cheong k” and in half an hour we’d be belting out to emo boyband songs or dancing on the chairs to Ricky Martin’s Living La Vida Loca. Sometimes slutting it up to any Britney song, past or present.
Min Dee and Mun Teng! Min Dee handles all the Japanese songs and Mun Teng is seriously an artiste waiting to be discovered.
It was the December holidays where everyone was around, even Esther’s darling Shawn came up from Singapore. This is him being shy.
Myself and Mel yang layan. Karaoking is not her cup of tea but she was nice enough to keep the rest of us company.
Min Dee and Sush!
Mel must have been rolling her eyes at Esther and Shawn’s PDA. Not much what…:)
Chee Kiang came straight from Singapore right after his internship hence the working clothes. I like it when he has on his long shirt and slacks. Purrrrrr.
The December holidays was very laid back for me as you can see. For the first time in a long time, I spent the entire span of my holiday just chilling in Subang. I know lah as if I’m some jet setter but what to do!! Holidays are so few and far in between and so they have to be made use for awesome traveling plans. Speaking of traveling, I’m going to Bangkok AGAIN in three weeks. Can’t wait!! I’m actually more excited about my hotel room than the shopping. This means that the hotel room is SO friggin’ awesome that it can top shopping. Very impossible kan? But you will see the beautiful photos later. Cheap and beautiful, that’s my motto.
Oh that picture with Chee Kiang? That’s us sitting on the bench in his garden. Just trying to capture more pictures together because I realize that we’re both growing old, so better record more of ourselves age 22 and 23 before we sag into our mid 20s.
Also to showcase my new glasses (which I now hate). He had thicker black glasses before too and we look like we have couple glasses.
Haih suits him more right?
One without!
<3
Ahhh!! Perhaps my favouritest part of the holiday! Mel and her Sketch-a-Sketch! She made Dennis buy it for her when they were in Toys R Us (don’t ask) for Christmas. We also want leh Dennis. Tak aci.
She thinks it’s damn useful because she can just put it at her office table and scribble to whoever who talks to her without needing to say anything. This is her sad face.
Shawn was our chi mui for that few days. Just like how Chee Kiang sometimes is. It’s just a nice title for them because us girlfriends would like them to come and spend some quality time with our best friends.
Sush’s awesome red velvet cupcakes. She makes it with cheese icing. So so so delicious! I love you Sush!
The baking goddess.
Mun Teng and her busy phone.
Must have been another one of my moments where I piss Sush off.
Esther’s WOW face.
Using Malay words on Shawn because he is Singaporean and doesn’t know better.
Trying to understand the malay word.
Esther may be a lil dylexic because she wanted Shawn to hold the sign pointing to her, calling herself bodoh, but she kept drawing the arrow to Shawn, so Shawn one upped her and put his arm around her and the arrow was right again. That’s Esther being shy at her blurness.
Another genius way to use the Sketch-a-Sketch!
If a guy is grinding up behind you on the dance floor, your girls from across the room can tell you whether the guy is hot or not. So this is the “NO NO GET OUT OF THERE HE IS MOLESTING YOU!!” sign.
This is the “By all means, molest him back!! He hot!! Psst!!” sign. AIr liur meleleh, ada fahamkah lukisan saya?
Esther with a kiss to her cheek.
One of Esther’s favourite sayings.
Can’t remember why already but isn’t it such a nice picture?:)
I draw what I eat.
The famous “Such Is Life” quip with the correct facial expression.
Not getting it right..
Oooh ooh Mun Teng’s turn to draw.
-___________-
Mel’s puzzled look.
I drew a picture of Mel but she doesn’t think it looks like her. I think I’m quite the artist, don’t you think so?
This is her “Ya sure Jo” look.
The photo which doesn’t have much meaning.
I drew something really rude.
Ta-da.
I think we were talking about the number of facebook friends we had. Ahem ahem ahem ahem cough cough cough hackkkkk.
One of them must have pissed me off. Mel loved it, she’s gonna draw it the next time someone cuts into her lane on the road.
To show you that I am not that crude but am actually angelic when I want to be.
Talking about the following day’s clubbing session.
Sush and her ear pulling.
Mel and her multicoloured balls.. ahhahahahahh got inside joke..ahhh i wish i could share it..lolololololol.
Bang balls. Bang balls, for those who don’t know, means sit around doing nothing.
Chow Chee Bye!
None of them understood it. Okay see, shit is smelly and chow is smelly in cantonese. The half a love means half of my love which means half of Chee Kiang which just means CHEE. Then there’s the hand waving which is Bye.
So you get Chow Chee Bye. If your chinese vulgarities suck, it means smelly vagina.
Mun Teng sapuing the rest of the watermelon.
Esther’s drawings all damn innocent one la.
HAHAHA i drew that cone shaped thing, nothing dirty don’t worry, supposed to be the Roti Tisu dripping in condense milk that we usually eat at our favourite mamak place in SS19. Shawn’s like, “What’s that?”
Mun Teng raises our hopes up.
But to draw a flasher, this is the way.
HAHA Mel’s version of a black face.
But better give the original black face to hold. This girl used to come in to school every morning in form3 slamming her books on the table. We did not dare talk to her until she had something to eat during recess and was in a better mood.
I don’t know what they meant, I pose only.
So Mel. 🙂
There’s still the photos from the Christmas Party at my house, New Year’s eve… and oh god Chinese New Year. Another day, another day.
heh for the record, there was NO ear pulling. just facial expressions! 😛
jo: yes sush..yes..yes..:P
