My brother killed our 8 year old Koosh ball!!! *sob* He thought it’d look cute sitting on his yellow lamp bulb.. it’s gonnneee…. it’s a puddle of goo now… *wAiLLssSss*!!
Yesterday was Melissa’s birthday bash. Abby and Kenneth came early as they had no means of transport to get there at 7. Dressed too casually…arrived at Melissa’s at about 2pm..! Thank goodness my mum’s been there like nearly three times already! Melissa’s house is beautiful!!! Mindee and Amanda arrived shortly after and we proceeded to make Konyaku jelly with strawberries and longan! YuMmmm! Liss forgot to tell me that she needed more (mould)trays… so we used cookie trays…I guess it was okay, but of course, jelly trays are much nicer to use. The konyaku looked SoooOoo pretty because the strawberry gives out a reddish colour and it would remind you of the kalium heksasianoferat(III) experiment..but in a prettier shade of red. Fortunately Liss thought of having a steamboat party which means that there was not much need for preparation of food stuff. Her mother had this herbal soup concoction in this gigantous pot (at least 40-50cm tall). It was made up of pork ribs, kei chi, red dates, soya bean and foo chuk! Mmmmmmmmmm!!! It was the steamboat soup!
For most of the time us girls were downstairs bustling about with our konyaku business whereelse Kenneth was upstairs with Nicholas giving him guitar lessons! Then they came down two hours before the party to set up a barbecue stand. Nicholas barbecues the BEST sausages! When you bite into it, it’ll crunch into a soft inside. So delicious!!! And prawns! They were barbecuing prawns too!!! Back in the house we were busy bringing out the food onto the dining table. At 7pm, no one has arrived. Thanks to the lousy jam and the confused decisions on directions. We started without them and MAnn!! Was the food delicious or what? I had bowls after bowls of that wonderful herbal soup. Stood up to make space for the others when they started to pile in from 7.30pm onwards. Oh well, better late than never!
At first it was very quiet. Very strange for a bunch of people who knew each other so well..! Brought out the beautiful konyaku jelly to fish for compliments on our hard work. Liss’s Dad was using his video camera and filming everyone’s antics. After dinner, we all went into her tv room to watch the video that he has made. It was SOOOOO embarassing. Every scene that I was in had me holding a bowl/a plate/sausage/prawn.. Then previously the guys put tons of chilli into Chin Ju’s bowl when he went away to the toilet. Little did they know that it was all recorded on liss’s dad’s video cam!! LOLLOLLOL!
After the party, I expected to have to do a huge amount of cleaning up but surprisingly the maid that they have is very efficient. So I proceeded upstairs to clean myself up instead. Then Nicholas challenged me to a few rounds of GT, tony hawk pro skater 3 and CTR. Haha.. oh god how I suck! Even Liss can beat me at CTR. Malu-nye!! At least there was Abby the Newbie for a consolation. 🙂 Then Nicholas took out his guitar and we had a good ol’ singing sesh. Managed to call it quits at about 3.30am. We slept horizontally on Liss’s queen-sized bed. Started on a long rambling on TVB actors and some Homecoming casts with Liss. Abby started to snore almost immediately. That boring huh, Bby? Then we were discussing about the shallow people we know/used to know/thank god we do not know. Then we got to Kwo Kuang who is cheeky 24/7 and we suspected that it could be a facadé to who he really is deep down. A real good boy. Then I was trying to be philosophical and started to say something like, “I think there’s a layer of….(I wanted to continue like this: hard and elastic surface to his otherwise more sane interior..or something)” but it came out sounding abit eerie and appeared to be referring to something that is happening at that very moment(nothing was).. and Liss and ABby screamed and jumped onto poor middle Jolene.. they thought I saw a layer of something. Scaredy cats. Kept talking, talking until I reached the point of asking them if they are afraid of closing car doors due to static… I guess I must’ve been really really sleepy. I think we went to bed at about 6am. Had to wake up the following day at 8am as my mum was coming at 9am.Â
