A few of my dahlings are back from Australia! I honestly miss them so much and really miss the time we’ve spent together as a clique. These are the girls who did things with me all the time and for the (almost an)entire year that we’ve been apart, I’m starting to forget what it was like to be sitting around 10 girls and feeling like I belong no where else but with them. Granted that only four of the nine who are overseas are back, but it’s better than nothing!
These are the girls whose faces appeared as often as mine on this blog. In a way, this was their blog too. Those of you who used to read my blog like more than a year or two ago would remember these pretty girls faces as much as mine. My fellow camwhoring partners in crime. So good to have them back.. I really really miss hanging out.
If my blog was a tv show, I’m now currently in a spin off from the prime time hit The Subang, a new series called Desperate Dentists. A different set, a different cast, a different life.
As lame as the idea sounds, The Subang was actually a cute joke Chee Kiang and I made to mock all the dramas that go on with our friends. And how we wanted to dedicate one entire season to Kay Hong and his adventures. The term Desperate Dentists was coined by Lie Yuen and I (or was it Andy and I? or Brenda and I?) to mock the dramas that go on in our dentistry class which boasts a claustrophobic number of 37 other individuals.
The Subang couldn’t go on because the cast had a conflict of interests(my desire to study dentistry, my best friends going overseas, my boyfriend in Singapore) and insufficient funds(way too expensive fees to study dentistry overseas) hence the local production, Desperate Dentists. I hope you guys enjoy Desperate Dentists as much as you(if you ever did) enjoyed The Subang.
The Subang consisted of a huge cast of twenty over people. That was the life. I’m starting to forget how it was like.
Only Esther, Abby, Chien and Liss were back this time around, at least those I’ve met up with. A few others are too, but I haven’t met up with them. 🙂 Can’t wait for our big ass outings.
A few of the girls met up for lunch(with a surprise visit from a certain Mr. Lee Ji Yang. So boys, don’t emo that we didn’t call.) at Ming Tien. I have to admit, I was quite amused that Ming Tien was suggested because we’ve never gone out of our way to go to hawker centres to eat. We do go to the ones in Subang for convenience sake. But it was usually suggested that we go to somewhere nice which will cause most of our pockets to act as wind catchers for a week or so.
So parents, if you want your kids to be be thrifty Malaysians, send them overseas and they will return home deprived of durians and char kuay teows. 🙂 and less eager for the wonders of places like Italiannies. :
l-r: Abby and Mun Teng. She started work at KPMG(sp? that big accounting firm or something) for her 2 month internship. Confirm kena buaya kau kau our dear Abby.
Esther and I! She started work at her grandma’s house this week too. 😀 Help her grandma off alarm in the morning. -_-
Me and the fried mushroom. Fried mushroom started its new life in the sewers somewhere in Sungai petani too, this week.
Liss and I! It’s Liss’ birthday today! I called her to wish her and she said, “Hello? Who’s this?” #$&*(*$%^%. So I said, “Guess la.” .. and she said, “Jo?” and I replied, “No…”.
And then she paused for awhile, “Um, ok. This is a foreign number (Kedah starts with 04)….keep talking, so I can guess who this is!”
“I donno you guess la.” I repeated.
“Jooooooooo!!!!!!”… hahahaha busted!
She thought the whole of Malaysia started with 03.
-_-
Happy Birthday Liss. As always. HAhahaa.

Here are some candid shots from lunch at Ming Tien:
Abby I know you got nice teeth.
Liss warning us not to take advantage of her endearing blurness.
Mun Teng! Try and see what I’ve helped you remove from this picture. 🙂
Esther loves this photo I know. 🙂 I catch them in their cutest moments. I like it! hahaha.
Some good ol Malaysian cuisine. Ipoh Horfun!
Some Sarawak mee…
Yong Tau Foo!
Char Kuay Teow. I know, I know. I’m getting hungry too.
Laksa. Half eaten.:P
Fried mushrooms! Or was it fried Longan?
(removed)
Ji Yang who came home as buffed as ever.
(removed)
Chien and I! Her hair has grown to such a beautiful length and she curled the ends and the effect is simply amazing. Too bad I didn’t get a clearer picture. She’d scold me also if I asked her to pose for a photo.

Mun Teng aiming for the last fried mushroom.

Can see abit of Chien’s beautiful hair here!
Hehehhe, more weird shots.
Sour sop ice kacang? Thanks Chien:)
After Ming Tien, we went shopping at One-U! It was the first day of the Megasales. I was at the wrong place at the right time. I do not belong on the One-Utama equivalent of Champs Elysées. It was the expensive floor with Guess, Zara, Forever 21,MNG and stuff. Yeah, I know those brands are upper middle class and I’m supposed to be middle class(all Subang people are called middle class urban folks, said a magazine article once) but I suppose my allowance which covers house rental fees, bus tickets, clothes, food, electricity and water bill is not sufficient to bring out the careless shopaholic in me.
Furthermore, I’m saving up for the z610i! And I have enough already!! Just waiting for a couple more cheques and I must try to get over my fear of redrawing hard-saved cash. It happened when I saved enough for my Lumix last year. Hehe. A spanking new digital toy every year! Yay!
But i DID check out Forever 21. Been meaning to since June. And the variety is overwhelming. I couldn’t complete looking through all the racks or all the piles. It was just too many! I saw his nice halter dress…:)
And they had it in blue. Rm150. Quite oklah. But it emphasizes what I don’t want it to emphasize. Tummy and arms. Photos have been photoshopped. So, don’t argue with me.
And we shopped till the sun went down.
After having dinner with our respective families(such fillial daughters we are), we yamcha-ed with Dennis, Josh and Vern Yang! This is Dennis and Abby. Dennis, your smile damn fake lor! 😀 Like so terpaksa like that! I’ve pimped Dennis for so he needs no introduction.
l-r: Josh and Mun Teng. Joshua looks good in (Mun Teng’s)glasses what. Like Clark Kent! Oooh-er. 🙂 Joshua is single, rational and full of charisma. (ok, stop laughing, you guys.. I can hear Rosalyn and Wai Kit laughing all the way from the US). Predicted by Mun Teng as the type who will have a live-in girlfriend but not marry, but what is stopping you lovely ladies from changing it all?
Email me at jolenelai@gmail.com with the subject Jumping Joshua. He jumps really high by the way from the good ol volleyball days.
At 1.30am, we decided to go down to SS2. Wanted to go to KTZ to eat the Mango Lo, Mat To Lo etc. But ended up in Prince Cafe. One of those cafes with cute fusion milk juices. I had a Ribena with milk.
Doesn’t Vern Yang look absolutely adorable? He didn’t know the drink he ordered would end up looking so feminine. lol.
Josh and Vern Yang.
Another one. I’ve just discovered that Vern Yang is very much elegible.. 😀 Not that he requested any favours from me(and I think he’d absolutely kill me after this).. but hey, any equally elegible women out there who would like to bask in his boyish charms? 22 years old, working in finance.. girls, girls!! What are you waiting for?!
Email me at jolenelai@gmail.com with the subject Vivacious Vern.
