The Sony Ericsson z610i That I Bought With My Own Money!

The Sony Ericsson z610i is finally a reality to me! For months I’ve been itching to buy this phone and fretting about my dire state of finance…until I learnt that I could actually get paid for the articles that I wrote for R.age!

RM92.50 for the Celcom Tower X widget that I forced all of you to download. Thank you, you 37 kind souls!
USD50 for first review for Reviewme.com

RM276 for Pink article for R.age. (haven’t received the other two cheques..hopefully the Rm276 is not inclusive of the other two articles)

But Maybank takes a commission of USD10 for every US cheque processed. T_T

Never thought I’d see the day that my blog can buy me my phone. 🙂 Well, technically, I knew Liz Tai through blogging who gave me the opportunity to write in March and then she referred me to Phui Yee from R.age and then there were 7 articles contributed by me in exchange for a few healthy cheques from the Star Publication Sdn. Bhd. So I’m keeping it real and I’ll say, blogging bought me by z610i. *nods*

Sorry lah, I feel very happy ma. I am now broke like the brokest of you, so there’s nothing left to be proud of…but my phone!!

I bought the phone for RM1080 at Sungai Wang last Friday. According to the handphone guy it was a distributor product and some would still call it AP. Well, I don’t know alot about AP or oris but I think it’ll do. AP means no original warranty. I can deal with that. I’ll go back to that shop if anything happens to my beloved.

Since I wanted to make full use of my phone..I bought a RM278 1Gb M2 memory card. *Looks down shyly*
And had no money left so I paid RM20 for a pair of fake earphones. The phone doesn’t come with earphones.

And then blew another RM70 to wrap the beauty in a clear soft plastic wrapper to prevent scratches and finger prints. Despite what alot of people said about my kesanggupan to spend on wrapping the phone, it’s worth every ringgit I spent!

The lady used a hair dryer to aid the wrapping. She trimmed pieces of the wrapper off (ie. around the camera lens, around the hinge, around the earpiece(?) etc) after wrapping the entire phone in that soft plastic wrapper.

The interior. It’s plasticky but I’m not sure if it feels like soft pads because of the plastic or issit really softpadded. Hmm.

YEAH! My first pseudo MP3 player!

I’m loving it. Alot. Even with the caplang earphones, the sound quality is great and if there’s a call coming in or an sms whilst you’re listening to the music, it’ll fade out, take the call and then after you’re done, the music will gradually come back on. *heartheartheart*

At 2megapixels, the photos are uber clear. I don’t know how to upload the videos but it’s really clear as well. Good sound quality. Then there’s this programme called VideoDJ(They have PhotoDJ and MusicDJ as well) where you can make a mini movie out of your many videoclips. And with a 1gb memory card, I’ll make my mini handphone movie soon. 🙂

Woohoo!! The handphone guy activated the 3G function for me.  I could even load my blog, and it was damn clear!! The photo links at the side is exactly like what I see on my computer screen and I pressed cancel so that the rest of the 56k killing bandwidth raping images won’t load. But the bottom line is that… I. CAN.GO.ONLINE.ANYTIME.

I tried loading wordpress over and over again but the file was too big. I ended up losing RM20-RM30 after loading my blog, multiple reloads of wordpress and waiterrant.net and dilberblog.typepad.com.

The latter two blogs won’t eat much money because they are mostly text blogs. Without photos. 🙂 So I’ve put them on my RSS feed.

SO MUCH PRETTIER THAN MY OLD NOKIA 6610!!

I’ve yet to try my video call function. You can switch the camera to the front camera and then back to the one on the inside of the phone. Like you wanna tell your friend which top should you buy etc, damn convenient!

The most attractive quality of the phone. The beautiful external screen. It’s scrolling, by the way! And the same thing happens when there’s a phone call or a message. Like Call from Whowhowho…or Message from WHowhowho…

I really love its reflective surface.

Can’t get enough of the external screen. After awhile the screen fades out and you’re only left with a mirror finishing, without a hint of a screen.

Check out the size of the M2 memory card. So dangerous lah, might lose it just like that.

Other features of the phone are like its bluetooth functions(sorry lah I jakun), recording function(can even record lectures or even phone calls for that matter), face warping..etc.

I was telling Chee Kiang how I needed to buy a handphone bag for my z610i. And he said knowingly, “What, pink and fluffy?”

Then I was like, “NO! You think of me like that one ar?:( I’ll buy a nice brown velvet one. Classy.”

He knows me too well. -__-. Cannot help it, so pretty and cute. RM4 only from Central Square, Sungai Petani. A blue pouch for a blue phone.

Oklah, one last normal one. Not bad right the quality?? However, there’s no flash,no it’s abit cumbersome when it comes to night/evening shots.

Sidetracking a little before I end this entry. The sole shopping mall in Sungai petani is actually not too bad if you give it a chance.

Get this okay! The three PVC polkadot pencil cases are THREE for Rm10. And there were like dozens of choices. The furry white pencil case is RM8!! RM8!!! It is usually sold for Rm20-30. The pink cosmetic bag is RM4!!

The plain stretchy baby tees? RM10 each! No Lala motives, just plain solid coloured baby tees! 🙂
