Since Chinese New Year is coming up, I’ll probably be busy accumulating 56k killer material. 🙁 I can’t control myself. Sorry. So here’s a jumble of happenings to share before I go on a festive hiatus.(perhaps a couple of days la)
To start off, here’re two audioblogs from my dog, Angel and I.
First part:
Second part:
And of course, I’m trying my best to sing the one and only chinese opera that I know. Mum and Aunt always sing it during chinese weddings. Hence I know it quite well by now. Don’t laugh ya.
This came in via MSN today from Abby who said she had a ‘little something for me’. That horrible Abby took a photo of me when I was sleeping on the KTM ride to KL Sentral. Somemore so nice the shot!! 🙁
One of the very very few natural photos of me. Most of my photos are staged. As if you don’t already know. Heh.
Like I said, the strangest things can be found in SUngai Petani. Have you ever heard of a staircase which is being converted into a shop? Very innovative. This is somewhere in town where we had our lunch on Tuesday.
And on Tuesday, we finally started using handpieces. After one and a half year of being a dental student, it was a milestone. Holding the dental probe for the first time was rather significant to the lot of us.
We were told to look for certain type of caries(occlusal, cervical and approximal) with cavities from the teeth that we’ve collected from the dentists.
Everybody were at hard at work, trying to sketch a drawing of their findings.
Three sides, for every tooth. Times six.
A sea of teeth. This is from Ee Chia’s dad who is also a dentist.
That’s a medium occlusal caries.
An approximal or maybe even a cervical caries on an anterior tooth.
I think that’s another approximal caries.
Ahah! Definitely a cervical caries.
The dental probe is so easy to handle!!

Lie Yuen forgot to bring her wallet to Kedah but as her mum managed to pass the purse to her grandmother, we made another trip down to her grandma’s place in Penang. Furthermore, it was on Valentine’s Day!
So of course I went trigger happy again .
Nice lighting?
And eggs. Even eggs are beautiful given the proper lighting.
Prawns. I love prawns. Unfortunately Lie Yuen’s grandma cooked it with sambal.
And chilli growing outside Lie Yuen’s grandma’s house.
I got Lie Yuen to pose next to the clothes.
Brenda and Lie Yuen gossipping over some clothes, just like proper housewives.
To whoever who dares to piss me off.
And of course a little kung fu in the garden before dinner.
Morning glory in the evening? And this is only using a digital camera. Nice leh!
cooked prawns! Yum:)
The two aunties sitting down, enjoying the evening breeze.
I spent my Valentine’s Day with my Kedah wife. I have a temporary wife back in Subang too. But I need to be entertained whereever I am, so my temporary wife(melodysongfaye-lynn) must understand.
”
She was scolding some guy who didn’t want to pay for his cigarettes.(her grandma runs a small business)
look at that! A REAL chicken barn!
So cute! The chicken looks lost!
A chicken hopping along some rocks in a small stream.
Nolah, just a chicken standing in some stagnant water in a nearby smelly drain.

And damnit!! This is just so authentic and rustic and old fashioned that I HAD to take a photo of it.

I was just telling Tze Ching that there are boutiques in Sungai Petani. They import their clothes from KL, Taiwan, Hongkong and maybe even Thailand.
We went to one of our usual haunts today after class and were shocked to find out that the entire shop was selling clothes at 50% off. You should have heard Brenda, Lie Yuen and I screaming and running around the shop when the sales girl said, “…fifty percent discount!”. So embarrassing, but cannot control you know! FIFTY PERCENT WOR!!
I…I… .boughttwothingsfromthatshopsonowI’mRM74poorer.
All you girls are bad influence. Hehehe. But isn’t it nice?? The white top was RM40 after discount and the leggings are only RM10(which were from Sungai Wang).
By the way, there was a water cut when I was bathing half way. Till soaped up and hair still soaking with conditioner, I had no choice but to go downstairs to finish the job.
Thank you Lie Yuen for always spotting my stupid moments and reminding me to take photos of it all.
I was so scared that my hair will touch the bottom of the sink. I’m not a fan of surfaces that are in contact with water for most part of the year. The bottom of basins, bathroom floors, corners of porches.. etc.
And it was rather refreshing too!
And I bought this black swishy dress for Rm35!! Original price was RM70!! It was a steal! I bought it even though I didn’t know what I’m buying it for. But it’s only Rm35!!
And this is how it looks.
Okay! Gong xi fa cai everybody! I doubt my ang pow collection will be healthy this year as I’ll be heading back to Kedah on Wednesday already.
I need to attend (normal)classes so that I can learn. I need to learn so that I can pass my exams. I need to pass my exams so that I can I work and earn money. I need to earn money so that I can afford to send my children to a good university. My children who are in good universities will then take care of me in my old age. In my old age, I don’t need to waste away in a nursing home but maybe be fed and have my ass washed by two Indonesian maids. Hired help, paid for by my filial children. I love my kids, they are such good kids. *meraba kepala anak yang belum wujud lagi*
So you see how important it is for me to go back on Wednesday. It determines my entire life.
wow… you really can sing opera leh… not bad hor for your age can sing such high pitch songs… *5 heads on the floor*
